PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Town has been hearing from concerned citizens about possible flooding in the town. Saguache Creek is running very high- Tuesday it was flowing at 395 cubic feet per second- bank full is 300 CFS.

The Town and all surrounding ranchers have closed head gates and will not be diverting water into these ditches until things dry out.

If you see water in town ditches, it's because rainfall has caused water to over-top diversion structures.

People living along western Christy and Pitkin as well as Gunnison by the Highway, should be especially watchful.

The Town is stock piling sand for sandbags at the Community Building. Empty bags for sand can be picked up at Town Hall or by the Library.
